Judo Scotland / British Judo Association / British Olympic Association Announcement - July 2012
Although I'd made a comeback from Injury amassing ranking points putting me in contention for the the number 1 place, disappointingly I was awarded the reserve position in the U52Kg weight category in Team GB. I prepared upto the day of the event, as injuries are always a possibility, Judo is a hard sport, where the slightest error on the Tatami can cost an Olympic place ..
European Judo Union - Gold in European Cup (Sarajevo) - April 2012
I win gold for Great Britain. Fighting two Serbian Judoka Smiljana Zivkovic in the final and another Serbian in the semi final. Public recognition of my performance and results getting better at European Cup level having won the last edition in Malaga. Really setting me up for Olympic qualification with Sophie Cox.
Ranking points are becoming more and more important as we get closer to 2012 so International players will be attracted to the event. Although the points do not affect the Host Nation Qualification quota they do affect future seeding so it will also be an opportunity for our players.
